Zentangle
Be Proactive
What is a Zentangle? Miniature pieces of unplanned, abstract art created in a very structured method from a series of repetitive patterns on a square paper tile. The process is a form of “artistic meditation” as one becomes completely engrossed in making each patter, deliberately focusing on “one stroke at a time”. The creativity options and pattern combinations are boundless. And anyone can do it successfully!
Begin with the End in Mind
Why are we doing this? It looks cool. Also it teaches line control, it increases focus and creativity, and it provides us with artistic satisfaction. It is an opportunity to demonstrate practiced techniques and assess level of mastery.
Put First Things First
Plan, Explore, and develop idea
Decide on a topic for your Zentangle. It could be a tree, flower, car, a word, or any other really creative and amazing idea that you can come up with. Begin your drawing of your idea adding Zentangle designs, patterns, and textures in and around your image. They should completely fill the space.
